After a small letdown from vol 2, vol 3 knocks it out of the park. I really enjoyed this book and it's characters. The action is great and it was nice to have a little love story involved. I'm a little disappointed that I haven't found out what happened to some of the characters from vol 2. Theres only one character you find out what happens to him/her. I'm now enthused to see how earth reacts to the situation at hand. You can read this book without reading previous volumes and hopefully still pick up what's happening. Not a terrible cliffhanger if you choose to not continue, but I recommend continuing. No swearing or sex agian. A slight insinuation of a honeymoon and not needing clothes, but that's it. Good read for young adults 13 and up.Product details

SODIUM Fusion eBook Stephen Arseneault Elizabeth Mackey Reviews
This book was a fantastic read for me. This book rampedup the storyline and left me wistfully wishing I had a QE of my own.
Also, we find that the human spirit is resiliant...and hope not only springs etrnal but is a driving force. Humanity as a whole can accomplish much in the face of adversity. In many ways, we see that we humans are at our best when things are at their worst)
Techie stuff, raw humanity and some romance thrown in...the SODIUM series has something for everyone.
A new protagonist for the third time continues the story in SODIUM. I don't agree with all of the science and engineering, but since I'm a EE P.E. in Power, I can be kinda picky. As a story, I enjoyed reading it. It's Stephen Arseneault's first series so a little rough, yet it's still unique and exciting.
The first two volumes were good, I believe this one is better. The story continues to be told from the viewpoint of a narrator & some reviews continue to complain about the lack of dialogue. As I said in a previous review, a single narrator is a perfectly fine way to tell a story. The style has been around for centuries. This volume does address the two-fold question of who are these aliens & why do they continue to attack? Humans do not yet know the answers.
With news that the Alien Fleet is inbound in a couple of years, the Astronaut Corps starts a dedicated training program for new recruits. One of these recruits is the great nephew of David. This training is intense and the graduates (if they make it) will become part of the Defender crews. Each one of these carries a crew of 4 and all of crewmembers are cross trained.
The reclamation suits are an incredible piece of engineering!
I thought the battle at the end was spectacular and captivating. Kudos to the author for his imagination.
Most highly recommended.
It was okay, I didn't really get into the space stuff, the ship and all it's gadgets, settings and configurations. It just felt like there was nothing but the guy, the ship and the alterations to the ship. Not really my cup of tea, but I loved the earlier books, so I'm going to keep reading the series.
I reviewed Sodium 1 rather critically, because the lack of dialogue threw me off and I felt that the story of some friends out on a camping trip and encountering an alien exploratory craft needed a lot of filling out.
As I continued to read 2 and 3, I realized that the story arc was designed to cover multiple volumes; when taking into consideration the AMP series that is a continuance of the SODIUM stories, this really is quite an epic tale.
Book 3 continues to display the punctuation issues that the two previous books had; Mr. Arsenault previously mentioned that all six are being professionally edited as we speak, so it is my hope that these issues will soon be remedied.
It takes a patient reader to take in this entire story, and I have the entire AMP series still to go, but I feel as though when I am done it will all be worth it.
Quite a series. I am constantly amazed about these authors that have an uncanny ability to live in another universe. Some of his writing is simplistic but enjoyable nonetheless. I especially like the fact that he lets us finally prevail. Although the destruction isn’t detailed it is stressed. This is the third book of the series. The first one was the hardest to read but needed to be told. Without it the rest wouldn’t really make sense. I won’t go into detail about the story. This series is worth reading. You won’t regret it. Enjoy!!!
